I really wanted to give this a 5-star review because the Halo Glide Gentle Shaving Cream itself is genuinely excellent. The texture, glide, and overall shaving experience are easily among the best I’ve used.
However, the buying experience completely ruins it.
For a long time now, this product has been deliberately kept unavailable as a standalone item and is instead pushed through bundles or kits. This forces you to buy additional products like pre-shave oils or face washes—even when you already have plenty left. It doesn’t feel like added value; it feels like a forced upsell.
I even reached out directly and received a response from Vivek (from the brand), who said that the shaving cream would be made available as a standalone product “soon” once new stock arrived. That was months ago. Since then, bundles have consistently been available—but not the individual shaving cream itself.
At this point, it’s difficult to see this as anything other than a deliberate strategy. In my view, this borders on predatory sales practice—restricting customer choice to push higher-value purchases.
It’s disappointing because I would have happily continued buying this product on its own, even if it meant paying a shipping fee or meeting a minimum order requirement.
But because of this experience, I’ve decided not to continue purchasing from this brand.
Great product, but a frustrating and restrictive way of selling it.
